Globalization has affected not only me but everyone around me by providing technological advancements and the ability to interact with people from all around the world. It also provides us with more goods and services different from the ones we are used to having. My view of the world trade is overall positive, this leads to the creation of more jobs and economic growth for whoever is involved in it. Of course, there is a negative side to the world trade as there is with most things. Some negative things that could come from world trade is the taxes that other countries have on goods being transported in and out of their area. My views are primarily formed from other people’s perspective and my own knowledge of the topic. I have traveled out of the state multiple times but not out of the country as of yet. I grew up for most of my life in Virginia. I plan to graduate from college with my bachelors in computer science and start a career in that area. Globalization is gonna benefit my current plans because we are still making advancements in technology and we are gonna need people who know how to use it in an efficient way.

Globalization not only affects my family and I but also the community. With trade, more products are greatly made from diverse nations and are widely offered worldwide. With this it is very easy to buy almost any items you want just right at a local store or on the internet. My view of World trade is positive because of the wide variety of items that can be openly bought today due to this technique of globalization although I also believe that world trade can have negative impacts as well. I have travelled outside of my home state to places such as South Carolina and Florida. Although I have never travelled outside the United States so far I plan on doing so. My plans after graduating from college is to work for a successful business with the major I have chosen while attending college. Being included in a successful business can have harsh affects with the affiliation of globalization due to the risk of being able to lose your job and companies moving to other countries due to cost issues.

Globalization has affected my life through technology, there wouldn’t have been any advancement in science. Technology plays an important part in people’s everyday lives, such as communicating with family and friends you don’t get to see everyday. It gives me a chance to communicate and see how family and friends are doing across the country and the world. Without globalization, there would be no trade or commerce. It gives trade to other countries that need it.
I have a favorable view on trade, because it makes the world more unified, which is promoting peace. World trade increase job growth, it would promote U.S exports, and makes the United States more competitive.
I have traveled outside of Virginia Beach several times, across the country to the west coast and all down the East Coast, from the Keys in Florida to Massachusetts. I haven’t traveled outside the country yet, just the Bahamas. Which I don’t quite consider that leaving the country. It’s more of a resort island.
After college, I plan on taking a year of two to travel, find somewhere I like, and find a temporary job just for the time being. Then I would like to settle down and find a real job I want to spend my life doing.

Globalization has affected everyone around the world, including my friends, family, and myself. There are many factors that are involved in globalization considering it’s such a large topic. For example, businesses expanding their company affects those who are on the other side of the world and are experiencing the customs of these new businesses. I have a positive view on world trade, I believe without it we wouldn’t have access to the resources other countries provide us. We get a constant supply of oil from the Middle East which is considered a world trade, we either trade our resources they need or provide money. World trade has a positive effect for everyone who is involved because everyone gets the necessities. I have traveled outside the Virginia and the United States multiple times. When traveling outside of the country you realize who poor other countries are and the help we could provide for them. After college I plan on being a child psychologist and possibly starting my own practice. Globalization can take part in this because having a business reflects on the economy and the economy reflects on globalization.

Globalization is the interaction of people, companies, and governments of different nations to strengthen each other and this has a great impact on life. Globalization affects the human lifestyle and connects us as a species. Technology advances due to globalization allow humans to have a better and privileged lifestyle by doing less work. Also globalization connects us by communication with neighbor countries and form allies to strengthen each other.
As I evaluate globalization and world trade I come to a conclusion that when it comes to those ideas the good outweighs the bad and they are overall positive ideas. World trade makes the world a better place from communication and powerhouse countries helping out countries in poverty.
In the future I plan to be a computer engineer and globalization is a major factor for my job and everyone else’s future job. With the advancement of technology due to globalization there should be inventions that will most likely be able to do human jobs and put people out of work. This will increase the demand of jobs in the United States and might be one negative aspect of globalization in the United States

In directly globalization has affected my family and I due to its effect on the economy. Because of free trade and open markets America has been going through lots of change related to the economy which affects certain prices including gas which would be one of the many ways it has affected me. I have a neutral, slightly positive outlook on world trade due to comparative advantage. Comparative advantage is something to ensure each trade is mutual which would allow things like free trade to exist. As far as traveling is concerned I have been to 48/50 US states, I have traveled to certain Caribbean islands, and been to several countries in Europe, the one I have been to the most would be Germany. I will end up enrolling into Law school, I imagine as I get older and the countries well doing becomes more and more relevant in my life it will end up affecting me (hopefully in a positive way).

Globalization really affects everyone because we could not have most of the things we do if we were not connected to different parts of the world so because of that i do have a positive view on globalization but otherwise i am neutral, i think what lies at the root of my perspective is the fact that we live in a generation that values their technology and materials like clothing. I have been to a couple of states on the east coast and every state is completely different than the other. I have lived in Brasil for most of my life so far and i can definitely say that there are major differences in the way that things are run but the products and items that we have are very similar, probably because we get them from the same country. Post college i am thinking of either working for the government or going to graduate school and that might be impacted by globalization, I think that i’m just hoping for a future where the world is all interconnected and peaceful.

Although globalization affects individual people, it mainly affects the entire country as a whole. My perspective on globalization is neutral because it possesses both positive and negative aspects. Globalization has caused people to loose their jobs, but it has also played a role in the growth of businesses, and the improvement of global communication through advanced technology. I was born in the United States but I have traveled outside of the country to places such as Germany, Spain, and Trinidad. My future plans for post-college are to go on to medical school to pursue a career in Veterinary medicine. Globalization could provide new opportunities in the future and expand the field of medicine or cause it to shrink.

Globalization has made quite a positive impact on my life. I live very far away from my extended family so it allows me to stay in touch with them when I can’t visit. It has also had a bitter sweet effect on my family. Globalization is what has caused my dad to have to go half war around the world for months on end for his line of work, but without it we wouldn’t live the life style we do, and for that I’m grateful. My view on world trade leans more toward the positive end of the spectrum. Without world trade, we wouldn’t have as much exposure to other cultures as we do. My reasoning for my perspective is that I’m extremely interested in submersing myself in new cultures. I have travelled many times out of the country and to many different states. I have lived in a total of three states. I’m not sure what I would like to do post-graduation, but I’m sure that globalization will take me around the world.

I believe that globalization has both positives and negatives to the human race. The positives that I believe are in globalization are communication, technology, and economic cooperation. Another benefit from is that it allows welfare groups to help out the population in much poorer countries by assisting them in providing food, clean water, housing, education, and healthcare. My negative views on globalization consist of its affects on the US and how it is making big businesses move to overseas market were there is less market regulations and making it hard for the american population to have enough work to help their families. My plans after college are to go to graduate school to get a masters in history and or a doctorate to work as a history professor. Globalization will make it a little bit difficult for me to get a job in history so that is the reason why i have decided to pursue a higher education to increase my chances.

Globalization has not personally affected my life. Of course, my neighbors and others around me have been affected due to loss of jobs overseas. As it is currently practiced, I have a particularly neutral-leaning view of world trade. If done better, world trade could benefit all countries and help them all prosper. If that were the case, as it is the ideal situation, I would be overjoyed about what world trade could do. Unfortunately, I will have to remain plainly neutral, with hopes of a change for the better.

This is the first time I have lived out of my home state, let alone the country, so I have very limited experiences solely based on my trips to other states such as: New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida.

As for my post-college plans, I plan on possibly going into teaching. Should globalization become more efficient than its current state, it is possible I could encounter more students from other countries, and would teach them as well. Due to this, I should be prepared for various cultural differences while also embracing them so students are more comfortable.

Globalization has impacted my life by technology. Technology is a big part of my everyday life. It’s a way to keep contact with family and friends as well my college professors. It’s also a great way to complete 6-7 page essays. I have a neutral perspective of global trade only because of the issues that could happen on both ends. Positively, global trade can populated the U.S with more of the items and resources that we need here today. Negatively, global trade can be revoked by the other country trading with us and just use trading as a way to get closer to us in order to have some sort of revenge. I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. I have traveled to New York as well as North Carolina but I’ve never traveled outside of the USA. My future plans for post-college is to go onto medical school to get my PhD and PsyD in Clinical Psychology. It may be impacted by globalization because today, this field is growing more and more over the years due to the urgent need of more people in this career.

    A) Globalization has made me resent calling my cable company. Why? Because due to outsourcing for cheap labor I am given help from someone all the way in India who isn’t able to fully help me since they aren’t in the United States.
    B) I have a positive view on world trade, mainly because I feel it strengthens our bonds with other countries and keeps our country universal. I think the root is thinking back on history and how when it comes to war, the countries you negotiate with the most, are the ones who are there fighting with you, and not fighting against you.
    C) I have traveled multiple times out of state from Texas to Hawaii. However, I have yet to leave the country. I have lived all of my life in Virginia.
    D) I plan to become a history teacher for middle school or possibly high school students. Globalization could impact my plans by having my job being outsourced so students would learn from teachers from different countries than from teachers here in the US. I however, believe this would be an extreme globalization that is very unlikely, at the moment.

  15. Tim Owen

Globalization has greatly impacted my life. It has increased the variety of options I have in a purchase, as there are now things from many other countries I could never have had without globalization. It has been a causing factor of an economic recession, that most Americans, myself included, have had to suffer through. Whenever I call a company for help with a product, an Asian person answers, from the other side of the world, because they are so much cheaper to have as employees, rather than another American, who can do the job just as well, because of minimum wage laws that Asian countries don’t have. All of this said, I do not have a negative view of globalization, I think it could work well for everyone, allowing for the spread of technology and knowledge that would otherwise be impossible, and that its current problem is that developing countries (like China) take great advantage of their cheap labor to an extent that developed countries cannot compete, and that were they to be regulated, as Obama was discussing, there would be little problem with globalization. I specifically chose a computer science major because I thought that an IT or computer repair job would be nice, just fixing computers and making sure they keep working and being paid very well. Most jobs can be outsourced, but these cannot really, as often computer problems are with the hardware, and it is inefficient and costly to outsource hardware repair.

Globalization impacts everyone. We have the ability to get natural resources and materials from any country in the world market. The world can thrive from interdependence if International relations are upheld. This means that our political leaders must establish good relations with other countries. For instance, I have never been out of the United States, but I have traveled to different states and states get along due to their full faith and credit policy which requires one state to uphold the laws of another. It is imperative that our lawmakers work to uphold foreign relations in a manner like the states in the United States do. In my post college future I plan to be involved in politics. I would like to work to restore international relations and hopefully better the world market.

In terms of social networking, globalization has allowed my family to create global connections. From London England, Kingston Jamaica, and back home where I live in Maryland, global connections such as skype, make it possible for my family to be able to communicate with one another without physically being together.

Trade is a positive impact on the country. I believe it opens people up to different cultures. We are able to get imported food, clothing, and cars. It also allows a positive economic development by having higher levels of income, increasing consumers’ confidence, and raising investments. Trade keeps the economy engaged, open minded, and in a good place for business.

While traveling out of the country, I have visited places such as the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, England, and Mexico. I visited Jamaica and notice that one of their full-time jobs were selling fruit on the side of the road. I had never seen anything done like that before. Nonetheless, the man was still able to afford a decent living environment. This led me to believe that the cost of living in Jamaica is much less. I learned that globalization affects you positively or negatively depending on where you live.

My post-college plans is to graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Globalization and its current trends impacts my goal by increasing the competition in my career field, which may make it harder to find a job after graduating.

Globalization has impacted my life by the job core, many Americans have lost their jobs to foreign workers. I worked at a t-shirt factory and there were many foreign people that would look for jobs from the Ukraine, as soon as they got the job and worked for a couple of days they would quit because they weren’t willing to do the work. I think that that is a problem in the US people want to work for the money but aren’t willing to put in the actual work. I think globalization has not only affected my life but everyone around me including family and friends. My view on world trade is negative because if you look at what the US is exporting and importing, we are importing more than we are exporting making the balance between the two a negative number. I have travelled out of my home state a couple time but never have I ever travelled outside of the country. My post-college plans are to become a children’s counsellor settle down after I get a job, and start a family. Globalization could affect my future plans, it could affect my job it might take me longer to get a job than what I expect.

Globalization is often defined as the interactions between different countries through companies, businesses, and other resources. Globalization has a huge impact on my life. Just about 80% of the items I use everyday say things like “Made in China” or “Printed in China.” In the U.S., you can find many Asian food markets and Chinese restaurants on almost every corner. My family and I eat Chinese food almost every week and I use their products everyday.
I believe that World Trade is an excellent idea. Not only does it give nations the chance to use ideas from other nations, but It allows them to basically trade products and services which can help create more jobs for the U.S. The root of my positive view of World Trade lies from my love of sharing new ideas because it will help improve the world we live in.
I have travelled outside of my home state as well as outside of the country. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, however, I have lived in the same state and country all of my life. My plans after college is to attend graduate school to study Meteorology and travel to a new state or country to broadcast or teach about Atmospheric Science or Meteorology. My future career will be highly affected by Globalization. Technology is constantly advancing and Meteorology involves a plethora of technology. The U.S. will keep receiving new ways to improve the technology from other nations. The current globalization trends associated with Meteorology will probably not be greatly affected because it doesn’t change as much compared to other careers.

In my view of globalization it already has affected everybody. Each time when countries conduct trades or even in the transition of trading with other markets gives a rocky leverage. Including the political power for trading between countries have a slight pull on how the option might go. I have somewhat of a neutral view on world trade when a large country trades with one another. Depending on what they are trading I would input my opinion but blindly judging would not be a useful reference. With my past experience with traveling prices will vary from where you are to where you’re going. In California the average price of gas was higher than four dollars never even near the range of three-fifty. To include that many utility bills are still significantly higher than Virginia bills. Always keep in mind that where ever you may go prices will vary. For my post college future from Virginia Wesleyan College I will graduate within my intended field of study. Of course I would be cautious of what can change with globalization. With the increasing number of people wanting to get their education it will be more of a competition trying to better the future leaders of business and the country.

Due to the read, listen and watch assignment, a few issues have come to my attention. Globalization has played a larger role in my life than I previously realized. It has affected my mother and I’s lives in the way of our cost to live. We live in northern New Jersey where the taxes have had a massive increase since my mother original purchased the house which forces her to struggle to afford the house. I believe this is also influenced by our country’s trade and newly emerging power-house corporations all over the world. In my opinion, I see world trade as a positive action for the global economy although the recent assignment has shown me that there is not a very even distribution that is influencing concern of global stability. Originally living in northern New Jersey, travelling to various states such as Connecticut, Florida and Virginia has shown me that the cost of living is very different. An even larger difference I have come to realize is that different struggles that were apparent when I traveled to the Bahamas the past two summers. My post-college plans are to graduate Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in psychology, go for my masters either online or at a graduate school then get a career as a therapist or guidance counselor. However, I believe globalization will impact my plans by raising the cost to live, the salary of my career as well as the competition in my career field. I believe my plans account for the current trends in globalization may increase due to the rise in mandatory education as well as stress, anxiety and personal issues people face from the economy.
