I have decided to focus my documented, research essay on the effects globalization has on poverty, whether it be positive or negative. Because of my strong interest in the topic of poverty and having been assigned to write an essay on globalization, I decided to combine and link the two topics together in hopes of finding good research on each. In the beginning of my essay I plan on expressing both the ideas of globalization and poverty and what they really are. Then, I plan on discussing how globalization effects poverty in either a positive or negative way or even both. Lastly, I plan on discussing how a few people of my choosing express their own thoughts of globalization and how they think it has affected poverty, compared to how it really has affected poverty with research. All in all, I think that after I gather all of my sources and research, my paper will turn out exceptionally well.

For my essay I’m talking about Food Marketing. Food Marketing while being a lower tier to Globalization is still apart of it. I will be talking about how it affects the world both economically, financially, and politically. I honestly would like to talk about how food marketing has become a way for other cultures to come together and help stabilize each other’s economies by trading and buying goods the other country does not have. I would like to also establish on how food marketing can also make profits and businesses of certain cooperation’s. Another thing that really helps out with food marketing industry is how food marketing can end starvation. With world hunger being one of the greatest problems out in the world, I believe that with the help of food marketing people can find a way to give and receive food and end the crisis known as world hunger.

For my essay I will focus on how globalization affects culture, such as things dealing with education, religion and human rights. Education and religion will be minor topics in this essay while human rights will probably be the most interesting section because of all the current events going on in the world about it and ways people are trying to fix them. I will utilize a few online texts that talk about these topics and how they are related to each other. In the beginning I will talk about how globalization is progressively advancing throughout the world and then go into depth about how it is affecting each topic in either a positive or negative way. Then talk about how these things can be improved to make for a better world to live in. In the conclusion, I will talk about whether these are important events that should be discussed in the world now and what can be done.

For the documented essay assignment, my research and focus will be on the digitization and advancements in the technology of cancer research. First, I plan to discuss the over-all advancements in the most recent decades with all of the different technologies that may start to seem dated. Then I will focus in on some of the newer, and promising methods like nanotechnology and how it may effect the future, karyotyping and biomechanisms, stem cell research nanoball technology and a microfluidic device. I will give a succinct description of each technology then explain how it is changing the cancer research industry, and how it is effected by digitization. Then I will conclude by looking back, and re-emphasizing how far cancer research has come, and the impact digitization has made on it.
I hope to complete my research by getting more scholarly articles and less information straight from the Google search engine. I feel my topic is both specific and broad enough. Seaworld is one of my examples of a company trading animals between its parks in exchange for other animals. I have learned the main reason for trading is typically for breeding purposes. Before, they would capture the animals from the wild but now that is illegal. Certain animals that breed very well are the most valued. Even though parks aren’t getting paid for loaning out their animals, by having more or creating babies, ticket sales increase along with the parks profit. I do want to find out how successful the breeding program has been. I also want to know if there are any laws that monitors the breeding. Most importantly, I want to find an example (animal) of a successful breeder.

I have decided to change my essay and focus on how globalization effects labor. I will use a few online sources, try to incorporate a text, and interview Captain Vitale from Naval Intelligence, who now works for Microsoft, my sister-in-law Rebekah, who is a nurse, and possibly Glen Lester who works at the shipyard.I believe that through theses sources I can visit a wide variety of perspectives on globalization’s effect on labor.I intend to discuss how it affects the wages, working conditions, and businesses. I believe that I will gain a better perspective on how our world is interconnected economically from this research and I feel like this is an interesting topic. I also feel lucky to have so many people willing to give me their input on this subject. I am happy with how this is going and am looking forward to the interview process the most.

Right now with my research I think I have enough information to start and I am comfortable with where I am right now. I could work on improving my question more and making it more specific but other than that I think I’m good. I also could use a couple more sources to prove my arguments. I’m considering asking my father more questions about his career and foreign affairs because they deal a lot with people and companies all over the globe. For right now I intend to write about how globalization economically affects countries and will there be more of it in our future? Narrowing the globalization topic to how it affects countries will allow me to talk about goods and services all over the globe. In addition to that I will talk about it in three different time periods which is the past present and future.

Waypoint 4-A
For this research essay, I plan to talk about how globalization is affecting religions. I will include information about different religions but mainly focus on the Muslim religion. I will also talk about the relationship between religion and globalization and how it is negatively and positively impacting religions. I plan to discuss whether or not it has led to the growth or decline in different religions/countries and the pressures due to globalization that could possibly lead to religious conflict. I want to talk about how not only globalization is affecting religions but how it affects the economic and political stand points as well. I want to talk about religions such as Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and etc.
I will need more sources thus far, but from this point I have a good idea of what I want to write about. Most of the sources I have found so far have been books, and I’m struggling to find scholarly online articles that fit the profile of what I need. I know that I’d like to write about the positive and negative effects on animals due to globalization, but I’m having a hard time conceptualizing what within that I will write about, it’s also a quite relative topic. I’d like to take and over all look at whether globalization has been more positive or negative in its impact on animals. I’d also like to take a look specifically at the import and export of animals, big trophy game hunting, and cultural differences in which animals we eat and do not eat that other countries differ on. I’d like to take a look at these coming from many points of view, such as religion and norms for example.

For my essay, I would like to focus on how globalization and digitization has effected culture. By explaining this, I want to research how globalization how effected the environment both negatively and positively (if any). I also want to discuss the effects that digitization has had on American culture, such as the effects that technology has had on the methods of living as well as education. Involving both topics, I would like discuss how these movements have impacted our society over the past four decades (1970-20150. Both of these topics will include detail about the effects they have had on income, technology and the environment.

For my research essay, I have decided to mainly focus on how globalization has been changed/ transformed within the years and how this has affected the United States. As I plan to focus on how the United States has been impacted, I will also focus on the three vital topics that are involved with globalization in the United States. These three topics are the consumers, employees and the company’s/ businesses that have been changed due to the modernization and advancements such as digitization and technology. I will also detail how these modernizations have affected jobs and the manufacturing of products. In my proposal I will include the impact of buying U.S only product vs. products manufactured in other countries and the pros and cons of this factor and how these factors have shaped the new definition of globalization in today’s world.

For this research essay I plan to write about three major things. I want to write about wages and inequality between high and low skill workers, the loss of jobs, and the advancement of digitalization. The broad question that I would like to research is “How has the advancement of digitalization and globalization contributed to wage inequality between high and low skilled workers and the outsourcing of jobs.” I will also be conducting personal interviews from my brother and father. My brother use to work at K-mart as a cashier and my father works at a postal office. They will both serve as examples of how the advancement of technology is affecting how many jobs are available in the United States. The scholarly article “The Impact of outsourcing and high technology capital wages: estimates for the United States” has provided me with information on the difference in pay between low skill and high skill workers. They mention that the decline of wages has been brought on by technical change and trade with low wage countries. In my second source “Two way International migration and wage inequality” talks about how as the development of technology and global economic integration deepen, there will be increase in jobs. People will also be affected by actual or potential offshore outsourcing. The book “Globalization and its discontents” talks about economic power and the how jobs are distributed. It also mentions unfair laws and a step by step plan on how to move towards a better market. In the final chapter of the book, the author talks about “the way ahead”, which explains how we can improve and work alongside globalization in the future.

I have decided to focus this research paper around the impacts of globalization on our nation and the world’s environment. First, I will give a better and more understanding explanation of what globalization is and how it is used around the world. I plan on going into depth about the impacts caused by globalization, such as the positive and negative effects. After I explain globalization and its impacts on the world, I will go more in depth and explain the relationship between globalization and the environment. I will then explain how globalization will affect the environment as well as how the environment affects globalization. I will explain how globalization affects the environment through income, techniques and technology and global interactions. After, I will explain how the environment affects globalization, such as unsustainable locations and alternative technological paths.

I have decided to focus my research essay on globalization and its effects on the climate. Because of my strong interest in meteorology, I believe that my essay will not only be interesting to write about but it will also help inform me about climate change. In my beginning paragraphs, I plan to include information on what globalization really is and how the world uses it each day. With that I will include how goods are transported and include information about outsourcing and how it correlates with globalization. The essay will involve a discussion of how globalization can be the cause to the global warming phenomenon. I will include information on what global warming really is and what greenhouse gases, particularly CO2 emissions, result in the increased temperature of the atmosphere. I am wondering if I should include how it is effecting the sea surface temperature in the ocean. Due to the oceanography course that I am currently taking, I am very knowledgeable of how the increase in temperature of the atmosphere can effect the temperature of the ocean and the organisms that dwell in them. In addition, I will touch into how human activities contribute to the changes in climate such as the burning of fossil fuels and different forms of transportation that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Majority of the essay will include information about greenhouse gases when the greenhouse layer thickens due to the increase of greenhouse gases, it traps heat in that layer causing global warming. I plan on doing extensive research on greenhouse gases and its effect on the climate. I believe that once I gather my ideas together, with the right sources, this essay will come out to be very interesting and informative.

For my documented argument essay I chose to talk about the trends of globalization in the United States and how they are changing the world. I’ve come up with four different trends to answer my broad question. My first trend is about America using globalization to make a roaring come back. My second trend is about the deflation in America and if globalization is the causation of it. My third trend will be about manufacturing and what impact that globalization has put on it. My final trend is about aging and immigration and the results of globalization in America. Each of my trends will show different ways of how they have changed the world. All of the trends have something in common and that is globalization and the ways it has impacted America.
