Introduction:
As the age of digitization continues, the research and development in cancer does as well. The cure for cancer and different treatments has been researched ever since cancer was discovered, and in recent years the advancements made have been significant. There is an issue though, how will nations continue to fund the research in this expensive field?
Brief background on cancer research being done today
• nanotechnology
• stem cell research
• karyotyping/biomechanisms
• microfluid devices
Describe the funding for countries that are currently researching
• United States of America
• United Kingdom
• The European Union
My proposal to keep cancer funding
• Put a small tax on certain items that cause cancer or on a specified group of products to help fund
Conclusion:
Restate the importance of cancer research and how it will impact the future, and state my proposal on how to fix or help the funding problem.
Introduction: Many zoos and aquariums include globalization in their industry. The animals are traded between the parks in exchange for another animal. This is due to the origins of the animal captures, breeding programs, and maintaining their industries.
1, Animal Captures
– captured in the wild
-bought from other parks
-laws passed ending captures
2.Breeding Programs
-created to counteract laws
-animals were “loaned” out
-offspring weren’t living very long
3.Maintaining the Industry
-bigger the park, more animals needed
-some parks go out of business
-babies bring in more crowds
4. Safety of Workers
-“loaner” animals weren’t well known with the trainers
-not all trainers are trained properly
-attacks
5. Worth of Animals
-young animals mostly wanted
-male with high sperm count valuable
-protected only because of worth
Conclusion: Globalization is everywhere in today’s society. Zoos and Aquariums use it as a way to bring income to their parks.

Topic #1: What is globalization?
a) Define/ explain what globalization is
b) How it is used around the world
c) The environment
C. Topic #2: In which ways and how does globalization affect the environment?
a) Increased consumption
b) Increased income: Increase in resources for protection against environment.
c) Technology advances: Changed techniques, which could mean for an improvement in
“greener” technologies. (has a positive and negative affect)
d) Global interactions: Exchange of environmental knowledge which leads to improved
practices.
e) Increased environmental networks and movements: Will lead to increased
environmental consciousness.
f) Increases difficulty for states to rely on national regulation
g) Free trade: Lead to competitive pressures that will push down environmental standards.
D. Topic #3: How does the environment affect globalization?
a) Natural resource scarcity or abundance: Incites the supply and demand in global
markets.
b) Environmental amelioration: Extracts costs from the economy and resources away
from development.
c) Environmentally degraded and unsustainable locations: Become marginalized from
trade, investment, etc.

Unit 3: Waypoint 4B
26 September 2015
A. Intro: Globalization plays a huge role in the world…..however, it effects our climate and is the result of global warming ….releases greenhouse gases, increases sea surface temperature which is caused by…human activities, deforestation, and the burning of fossil fuels.
B. Topic 1: Increase sea surface temperate-
a. Heating of the atmosphere results in the heating of the ocean. The ocean surface is heated from above.
C. Topic 2: Fossil fuels
a. Burning of fossil fuels to produce goods releases CO2 into the atmosphere which causes the greenhouse layer to expand, heating the atmosphere within it
D. Topic 3: Deforestation
a. Cutting down of trees decreases the amount of oxygen and water vapor in the atmosphere. Trees will not be able to evaporate which causes the local climate to become very dry because of the lack of water vapor.
E. Topic 4: Industrialization
a. Pollution, aka CO2 emissions, is released in the atmosphere due to machines and factors used to produce goods for globalization. It releases these greenhouse gases into the atmosphere which effect global warming and the climate
F. Topic 5: Human activities
a. (Expand here)
G. Topic 6: Rebuttal
a. Even though globalization is effecting our climate, it has its benefits..
H. Conclusion
a. Restate
i. Restate information
b. Reflect
i. Reflect on the effects and results
c. Recommend
i. Recommend how we can reduce what we do globally to help the environment and prevent global warming
